Cairo - Abdulfattah Junis, the interior minister declared dead by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi on the eve, said today by telephone to the Arab network Al Arabiya no longer a minister, but a "soldier in the service of people." Junis was also a follower of Gaddafi tried to kill him on Tuesday, but the shot did not hit and injured a family member.
In his televised speech the day before, Gaddafi challenged the revolt and said "die a martyr" before leaving office. The Libyan leader also said that Junis had been killed by protesters in the city of Benghazi, east of the country.
