Taiz (Yemen) .- At least three Yemeni soldiers were killed and four others were wounded in an attack by suspected members of Al Qaeda against a government compound in the city of Zinyibar, southwestern Yemen. The Yemeni Interior Ministry said in a statement that an armed group linked to al Qaeda attacked early today with missiles B10 Zinyibar the government complex, capital of the southern province of Abyan.
The attack killed three soldiers and wounded four others guarding the compound, which houses the governor's office and the headquarters of ministries and institutions were damaged. After the attack, Yemeni security forces launched an operation to find the attackers, who escaped the scene in an unknown direction.
Today's attack is the latest in a series of attacks against military targets al-Qaeda, security and the Yemeni government in the province of Abyan. On 22 April, a soldier was killed and another wounded in an attack by four gunmen, believed to belong to the terrorist network against the main post office in Zinyibar.
