King attended the parade in Rome for the 150 anniversary of the unification of Italy

ROME .- The King Juan Carlos has come at ten o'clock on Thursday at Rome's Ciampino airport aboard a Falcon 900 Spanish Air Force to attend the military parade to be held from eleven am in the Imperial Forum in Rome on the occasion of 150 anniversary of the unification of Italy. Along with the King has traveled the Third Deputy Prime Minister, Manuel Chaves, and the head of the Royal Household, Alberto Aza Arias.

This ceremony was attended by a total of 80 foreign delegations, including a total of 42 heads of State and Government, as Russian President Dimitri Medvedev, the U.S. vice president, Joe Biden, the chairman of the German Federal Republic, Christian Wulff, and Austrian President Heinz Fisher.

Furthermore, also attended by Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Among the international leaders to witness the parade include the secretary general of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon, President of the European Council, Van Rompuy, and the secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa.

The parade will begin at 11.00 with a section devoted to the military history of Italy from the Wars of Independence to World War II, in which some military parade in period costume.
