Masataka Shimizu, president of Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) said April 13 that an emergency plan would be established to pay compensation to victims of Fukushima. It was his first public appearance last month. Significant reductions in wages will be applied within the group to deal with this crisis. It also expressed its intention to reactivate several reactors at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant, arrested in 2007 after an earthquake.
