The family of former Chilean President Salvador Allende sought exhumation April 13 as part of the investigation to establish if he committed suicide during the coup of September 11, 1973, as want the official version, or was murdered. Justice has opened an investigation in January into the death of Allende.
The daily recalls that justice has proceeded in 2005 to the exhumation of another former Chilean President Eduardo Frei Montalva, who died in 1982, to determine if he had been poisoned.
