CHAD - A by-election a foregone conclusion

The result of the Chadian presidential election, whose first round was held on April 25, should be no surprise. The current president, Idriss Deby, heavily favored hand, reports the Daily DRC. The three opponents, Saleh Kebzabo, Wadal Abdelkader Kamougue and Ngarlejy Yorongar have in effect withdrawn their candidacy and called for a boycott of the election.

In power since 1990, Idriss Deby is seeking a fourth term.
