(Writing / AP) .- The terrorist network Al Qaeda has confirmed the death of its leader Osama Bin Laden to a statement released through Islamist forums, according to the SITE monitoring service, reports Reuters. "Al Qaeda issued a statement on jihadist forums on May 6, 2011, confirming the death of its leader, Osama bin Laden," said SITE.
In its statement, Al Qaeda vows to continue attacks and says the death of Bin Laden is a "curse" for the United States also calls for an uprising in Pakistan. A special group of U.S. Marines struck at dawn on Monday was the mastermind of the September 11 attacks.
