The president of Ivory Coast will ask the ICC to investigate the massacres in his country

.- The president-elect Abidjan Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, said Wednesday it will ask the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the massacres in his country and said his priority is to ensure security and restore basic services after five months of fighting. In the same press conference, said that the recently ousted President Laurent Gbagbo has been moved from the Golf Hotel in Abidjan to a "safe" place within the country and its predecessor will receive "all the respect due a former Head of State" .

"Our situation is still fragile, what we need is to ensure the security of the country, especially in Abidjan," he said. He announced he would ask the ICC to investigate the killings recorded in Ivory Coast since last November, when the fighting started after the presidential election. Ouattara also said that all the conditions to resume exports of cocoa and Central Bank offices will reopen next week, before they do private banks.
