Cairo. .- An official report of the Administrative Control Authority released Monday has revealed that former President Hosni Mubarak and his family have an estate that exceeds the officially reported, as recorded by the daily "Al Masry Al Youm." The report has already been submitted to the Authority of Illicit Profits from the Ministry of Justice to investigate where they come from these assets.
The Mubarak family has several luxury properties such as houses and apartments in Sharm el Sheikh, New Cairo, Ismailia and Alexandria, plus plots of land in various parts of the country. Mubarak and his two sons, Gamal and Alaa, are being investigated for corruption and abuse of power, in addition to the violence by police against protesters who supported the protests began on 25 January.
Gamal and Alaa are being held at Tora prison in Cairo, along with several former senior Mubarak regime for corruption, including former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif. However, the whereabouts of Mubarak himself, as after being admitted on April 12 at a hospital in Sharm el Sheikh is rumored that could have been taken to a military hospital just outside of Cairo.
