Remand for fifteen days for Mubarak's wife

Cairo. .- The Egyptian Ministry of Justice today ordered the arrest of fifteen days of Suzanne Thabet Saleh, wife of former President Hosni Mubarak, to carry out investigations on alleged charges of illicit enrichment. This announcement follows the questioning this morning from Suzanne Thabet of the crime in the coastal resort of Sharm el Sheikh, and one day after the ministry decided to extend for another two weeks the arrest of exmandatario.

The head of the Enrichment Department, Ministry of Justice, Azem the Gohari, quoted by official news agency Mena, decided today to order the arrest of the wife of Mubarak. According to Al Gohary, this decision is because the charges against Zabet in which points that took the place of her husband to get rich illegally.

Yesterday, the head of the investigation against Mubarak, Khaled Selim, he moved to Sharm al-Sheikh, where he remains hospitalized former head of state to interview him and his wife about his alleged illegal accumulation of wealth. After questioning the president decided to prolong his detention, while Selim meeting with Suzanne postponed to today.

Mubarak, 83, and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, imprisoned in Tora prison in Cairo, are accused of power abuse and illicit enrichment. They were also guilty of being involved in the attack on protesters during the revolution, which began on January 25 and forced the resignation of then head of state on 11 February.

Mubarak is provisionally arrested since 13 April in a hospital in Sharm el Sheikh, where he was admitted the previous day after suffering a heart attack during interrogation proceedings.
