Mubarak's wife in intensive care after suffering a heart attack

Cairo. .- The wife of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, Suzanne Thabet, joined today in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital in Sharm al-Sheikh in South Sinai Peninsula after suffering a heart attack, medical sources said. The sources, quoted by the Egyptian state television, Suzanne Thabet explained that she was hospitalized on suspicion of suffering a heart attack after today ordered his preventive detention for 15 days.

The announcement of his entry into the Intensive Care Unit comes shortly after the authorities in the province of South Sinai began to prepare for transfer to a women's prison in Cairo. The director of security in the province, Mohammed al-Khatib was quoted by the Egyptian news agency Mena said that they were carrying out the necessary preparations for moving the prison Suzanne Thabet Al Qanater to Jeiria, in northern the capital.

These actions were taken after the Enrichment Department of the Ministry of Justice ordered the detention for 15 days exmandatario's wife, charged for allegedly accumulating a fortune taking advantage of the authority of her husband. Suzanne Thabet was already in the International Hospital of Sharm el-Sheikh, where Mubarak is provisionally arrested since 13 April, the day after being admitted to having a heart attack during interrogation court to which it was submitted.

Yesterday, the head of the investigation against Mubarak, Khaled Selim, he moved to Sharm al-Sheikh, to ask him and his wife about his alleged illegal accumulation of wealth. After interrogation it was decided to prolong the detention to the president, while Selim for today postponed the meeting with Suzanne.

Mubarak, 83, and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, imprisoned in Tora prison in Cairo, are accused of power abuse and illicit enrichment. They were also guilty of being involved in the attack on protesters during the revolution, which began on January 25 and forced the resignation of then head of state on 11 February.
