Johannesburg. .- At least 20 people were killed last night in several explosions that occurred in the warehouses of the People's Defence Forces of Tanzania (TPDF), where the Mbote Gombo camp on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, the newspaper reported today local "The Citizen". Although last night confirmed the death of 17 people, Tanzanian Prime Minister, Mizengo Pinda, today reported to Parliament that reports indicate that 3 others have died.
Pinda said the explosions started in one of the stores at night and spread to a total of 23 deposits in the camp, which also caused the destruction of at least two homes and a secondary school. According Pinda, 13 bodies were taken to Amana Hospital in Ilala municipality, two to Tekeme District Hospital and two more to Muhimbili National Hospital, while at least 4,000 people fled their homes and be moved to the Stadium National.
"It is possible that the number of fatalities increased, and know the extent of damage throughout the day," said Pinda against Tanzanian parliamentarians.
