The authorities of Belarus blocked social networks today to prevent opposition activists to celebrate morning mass protests on the occasion of national independence day. According to Russian media reported today, the groups have been blocked "Revolution through social networks" and "future strategy" used in recent weeks by opponents to celebrate already known as "silent demonstrations."
The activists, following the example of the Arab revolution in their use of new technologies have not been daunted and, according to the Interfax news agency, have already begun to create new groups to coordinate protest actions tomorrow that have official authorization. The Belarusian leader said Friday he would not tolerate new "silent demonstrations," although they remain silent opponents, do not utter slogans and waved signs and limited anti-clapping.
