Brazil's murderer was the victim of bullying, according to former colleagues

"Once, a classmate told a joke to Wellington, 'Man, we're afraid of you, because one day you will kill many people,'" says Bruno Linhares, 23, the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, recalling the time in studying the person responsible for the slaughter at the Municipal School Tasso da Silveira, in Realengo, Rio de Janeiro.

"It was a joke, but now it seems a prophecy. Do not know why I did not do that with our class," the student, that when he met the event went to school to help. Bruno and other former colleagues revealed that the murderer of 12 boys between 12 and 14 years had been the victim of 'bullying' (bullying) in the time he was a student of the school.

In class, Wellington suffered constant bullying. Students called him 'Sherman', referring to the famous nerd played by actor Chris Owen in the film 'American Pie'. As reported by young people who studied with the shooter, Wellington was also known as 'Suing', then walked limping from a leg.

They have also reported that Wellington was "completely crazy. Was detectable in the class had a problem. But nothing will take you to do that," says Bruno. The student believes that "schools should have led Wellington to a psychologist, trying to find an answer for the violence yesterday.

The murderer has been described by a former colleague, who asked not to reveal their identity, as someone quiet and introverted. The assailant was dismissed from the Industrial Unit Food Rica where he worked, because of its "low productivity" according to the newspaper "Folha de Sao Paulo." The young man worked for the company between February 2008 and August 2010 as assistant general services and was promoted two years later.

After changing position, with more responsibility, the professional performance of the murderer got much worse, as stated by the same employee. Six months later he was fired. "It was an extremely shy person. Even at social events showed distance, poor relationships with friends," said former colleague of Wellington.

After his dismissal, the murderer did not return to the company or re-contacted those responsible. According to the employee, other employees of the company are state of shock. Contrary minded former classmates of Wellington, the worker believes that the murderer had a seemingly harmless "never showed any violent reaction on the job," he said.

Relatives and neighbors described him as a withdrawn boy who in childhood was marked by the death of her adoptive mother.
