Thousands show support Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa

Manama. .- Thousands of Bahrainis today showed their support to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in a peaceful demonstration in Manama after the conclusion of Friday noon prayer. The participants, who showed their support to the Government and the entire royal family, carried photos of the monarch and country flags, as was noted Efe.

Also, some posters could read "we are the true voice of Bahrain", referring to protests by the opposition that began on Feb. 14 to demand political reforms and economic improvements. Bahraini public television, which showed images that you could see hundreds of participants, stated that the turnout exceeded 100,000 people.

A total of 14 foreign journalists were detained for several hours today at the Bahrain airport, according to NGOs denounced the Bahraini Youth Association for Human Rights. The protest takes place hours after some 15,000 people demanded the fall of the regime during the funeral of two of the four fatalities that occurred yesterday during the violent eviction of the square Lulu in Manama, where the concentrated demanded political reforms.

During the march, participants showed their dissatisfaction and anger against the authorities and shouted nationalist slogans as "Bahrain, you're my home" or phrases to honor the dead whom they consider martyrs. Since last 14 days the protests began, at least six people have died and hundreds were injured.

This popular uprising with a record turnout in this country, an archipelago with an area of only 727 square kilometers in the living little more than a million people, half of them foreigners.
