Estonia, 10 children died in a fire

At least 10 children have died in the fire of an orphanage in the town of Haapsalu, on the west coast of Estonia. The local media reported.  "From the time firefighters arrived on the spot, three or four minutes the building was completely in flames." This declaration of Viktor Saaremets, spokesman for the rescue service of western Estonia, on the fire broke out today in the orphanage for disabled children in Haapsalu.


Fire in the building, entirely of wood, were killed 10 children and one adult was injured. The cause of the accident have not yet been clarified. The spokesman then added that "during an inspection of the fire in January, the building had been found under." When the fire in the orphanage there were 31 children, ten of whom were hospitalized, and 9 adults, one wounded.

The budget was told the Russian news agency RIA Novosti that the majority of children with disabilities are housed in the facility. The Estonian authorities have decreed a national day of mourning for the day Monday. The alarm of fire and firemen arrived at around 14.30. throughout the building, built in the 50s, was caught in flames and partially collapsed.
