France agrees that Qaddafi in Libya can stay if he leaves the political scene

 - The French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said today that Muammar Gaddafi in Libya could remain provided they leave power and leave the political scene. "One of the hypotheses considered is living in Libya but one condition is that you clearly outside the Libyan policy. Is what we expect before activating the political process of the ceasefire," Juppe said in an interview to television channel "LCI".

He insisted that the cease-fire goes through that "Gaddafi to give up its civilian and military responsibilities," but was less limitation on the issue of arrest warrant for war crimes against the Libyan leader launched by the International Criminal Court. He explained that "now is a point not disputed.

There are procedures that must continue and we shall see, in the negotiations, what consequences should be drawn." The minister, whose country is championing the international operation to help the rebels to evacuate power Qaddafi, held that while "things progress (...) there is still a dramatic turning" in the military field.
