Gaddafi's troops attack and cause Misrata eight dead and seven injured

At least 22 people were killed and 50 wounded in attacks against forces gadafistas Misrata city, according to the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera. According to rebel sources quoted by Al Jazeera, Gaddafi's forces bombed the city with Grad missiles, artillery and tanks. A resident in the city, besieged for more than two months by gadafistas, told the Qatari channel series of bombings that began last night and continued this morning.

The chain has spread Qatari images of bodies covered with blankets and damage in homes and buildings in the city. Yesterday at dawn, the gadafistas Misrata bombed for three hours in length, in an attack that killed 23 people, including five Egyptians, and caused dozens of injuries. A rebel spokesman quoted by the same company warned of "a veritable slaughter" unless NATO intensifies its intervention in Misrata, the third largest city and surrounded by the forces of Gaddafi, who is bombarded almost daily.

The city, under rebel control, is on the verge of a humanitarian disaster and getting worse every day, given the lack of food, water and electricity cuts and the media. Currently there are international efforts to bring aid to this city, but the Libyan regime threatened earlier this week with a "wild and violent" attack if you send a humanitarian mission to Misrata.

The heavy bombardment of the last hours have prevented it to discharge medical aid and food on board of the UN-chartered ship that docked Friday in the port of the town, revealed today in Geneva a spokesman for the International Migration.
