Gaddafi investigate Hague for crimes against humanity

The International Criminal Court in The Hague today announced the opening of an investigation against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and his circle of political colleagues for an alleged crime of "crimes against humanity", said the high court prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo. "After a preliminary analysis of available information, the prosecutor has concluded that an investigation is necessary," said Moreno Ocampo as a statement.

For days there was speculation that the ICC, a UN body would initiate investigations against the Libyan dictator, because of the bloody repression of movements for democracy, which in recent days have claimed the lives of 600 and 1,000 people, according to local sources. The purpose of this research is to present an overview of the alleged crimes (against humanity) committed in Libya since the February 15, 2011.

" In addition, the high court of the United Nations says it is information about "entities or persons who could be prosecuted" for International Justice. Wednesday continued air attacks on the population, in this case in the city of Brega, recently conquered by the rebels. On Wednesday, the U.S.

has returned to express their misgivings about the creation of a no-fly zone to prevent the bombing on the population. "Let's call things by their name. An air exclusion zone begins with an attack on Libya to destroy its air defenses ... and then you can fly planes around the country and not worry about being shot down, "said Wednesday Defense Secretary Robert Gates, in a congressional hearing.

Moreover, the U.S. has expressed concern that Libya has become a safe haven for al Qaeda, such as Somalia. "One of our greatest preocuaciones is that Libya continues to sink into chaos and becomes a giant Somalia. Now there is something to see the light, but many of the activists of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Iral came from Libya and east of the country, which currently is called the free zone, "said Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
