France prepared to attack Gaddafi's troops within hours

The Security Council approved a UN draft authorizing the creation of a no-fly zone in Libya, as well as taking "all necessary measures to protect civilians." The document, which excludes the military occupation of the country, is the first step for the air forces of countries like France or the United Kingdom begin their imminent attacks on areas controlled by the regime.

NATO has announced that it is "prepared to act" in Libya in an "international effort" if the conditions of your participation is essential, has a legal mandate and strong regional support. For its part, the European Union has called cooperation among key international actors, the African Union and Arab League to implement "as soon as possible" the UN decision.

Tripoli has closed the country's airspace. France, UK and U.S. have been the drivers of an attack on Muammar Gaddafi to protect the population and the rebels. Last night, U.S. President Sarkozy telephoned Cameron and to coordinate a strategy. Gains strength, so the choice of the armies of these countries with support from some Arab states like Jordan, Qatar and UAE are responsible for the operation.

France might use military aircraft stationed in Corsica and Norway were the first countries to announce who will participate in the military operation. Although Spain has said that action only with the permission of Parliament, like Denmark, the Minister for Defence, Carme Chacón, has announced that the Government will make available NATO air bases in Rota (Cadiz) and Morón (Sevilla ) as well as naval and air.

Italy was ready to give up three military bases in the south of the country to implement the UN resolution, but does send planes. Poland has offered logistical support but rejects military intervention, like Russia. The move was last night backed by 10 of the 15 members of the highest international security, while none voted against and five abstained.

In particular, Brazil, India, Germany, China and Russia, the latter two are permanent members of the Security Council and would have voted against the veto of the measure. The draft also tightens the embargo of arms to the country and reinforces the sanctions imposed last month to Qadhafi and his close associates, and includes aspects to avoid the use of mercenaries by Tripoli.

On the other hand, the European air traffic organization, Eurocontrol, said that Libya has closed its airspace to all traffic, a measure that can provide for the imposition of a UN no-fly zone. A spokesman said it had received information from Malta that the space was closed and that the country does not accept any aircraft "until further notice." Soon after, confirmed the closure through their website.

Eurocontrol, founded in 1960, is responsible for overseeing air navigation in 39 European countries. For his part, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who will spend Friday in Madrid and meet with the King and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Trinidad Jimenez, on a scale and then travel to North Africa has called the decision "historic." The Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has suspended a trip to Leon to also meet with UN Secretary General.

"Given the critical situation on the ground (in Libya), I expect immediate action with regard to the provisions of the resolution," he said in a statement. Moreover, Ban has said: "I am prepared to assume my responsibilities as mandate in resolution, and will work closely with member states and regional organizations to coordinate a joint response, effective and timely." Lebanese Ambassador Nawaf Salam, has manifested itself as the only Arab representative on the Board and stated that "the resolution takes into account the cause of the people of Libya and intends to end the atrocious crimes against the people who commit authorities "of the regime who, in his opinion," have lost all legitimacy.

" The news was greeted with jubilation in the streets of Benghazi, where tens of thousands of people flocked to Martyrs' Square to celebrate the UN response. Many voices claimed that now is the time to "kill Gaddafi," according to Javier Espinosa from the rebel stronghold. The sky was full of light and bursts of tracer bullets from the sound of gunfire and air has been imposed in all corners of the city.

Attendees at the plaza chanting slogans like 'Oh Muammar, liar' or 'Residents of Tripoli, call for freedom. " A banner that carried one of the congregation said, 'urgent Muammar Note: Libya does not want you. " Benghazi, along with Misrata, have become the target of the latest threat of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, who said an attack "without pity or mercy" on this point for last night and now says it will deploy its troops around of the city.

After this message the dictator, the revolutionaries called on the international powers bombed Gaddafi's troops to protect civilians. The president of the National Transitional Council (CNT) Libyan Abdelyalil Mustafa, said that a possible no-fly zone on Libya would be "inadequate." For its part, the Libyan leader's son Saif al Islam Gaddafi, has said he would not "fear" to an international military intervention.
