Israel calls for pulling the Goldstone report to the dustbin of history

"I was wrong," she told Judge Richard Goldstone Cast Lead investigated the operation on behalf of the UN. The judge chose the Washington Post to declare that "we now know that Israel did not attack civilians (in Gaza) intentionally" and "Hamas, however, he did with malice aforethought." Goldstone added that "If I knew then what I know now, Goldstone (who accused the two parties to" be suspicious "of war crimes in the offensive that began in December 2008 and concluded in January 2009) would be different" .

The judge also praised the officers and men research conducted in the Israeli army (Israeli army) and the sanctions approved. Goldstone also asked the Commission for Human Rights of the UN (of which Gaddafi's Libya was a full member) that also condemned rocket attacks on Israel and the "terrible killing of Itamar" (in which five members an Israeli settler family-three children, one of them a baby and his parents were beheaded, one by one, in cold blood by two Palestinians.) Israel's government reacted over the weekend, with demonstrations, some masked, of joy, demanding the UN to launch the Goldstone report to the dustbin of history.

What they forget in Jerusalem is that the 15 minutes of fame are over and judge for many, his step back, not change perceptions. Perhaps not too little, but probably too late. The world is now occupied with more pressing issues, especially in the Arab nation. And on the border between Israel and Gaza, history repeats itself.

Kassam rockets and Grad missiles, largely released by the main arm of Iran in Gaza, Islamic Jihad, continue to fall almost daily on Israeli territory. With one change: the shells begin to approach the center of the country, impacting and south of Rishon Lezion to 20 km from Tel Aviv. And let no one be surprised if in the coming months will experience a déjà vu with a Lead Cast 2.

In the official Israeli media report that it is sufficient that one of the rockets fall on a school or a mall, causing a massacre, that the Israeli army tanks back into Gaza. And so, after the death of many Palestinian civilians, often used by Islamists as human shields, the UN again condemn Israel and to investigate their "war crimes." Perhaps the Goldstone repentance, to end at least to the absurd situation in which Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak could not travel to London (for fear of being arrested as a "war criminal") while the Hamas leader Haled Masheal , the architect of dozens of terrorist attacks in the past, can move freely.

Perhaps the solution is not a Lead Cast 2, but a speech Bar Ilan 2, in which Netanyahu is not limited to supporting a Palestinian state alongside Israel, living in peace and security but to propose a realistic formula to put implement such plan.
