Syria, Assad ready to make concessions historical But the opposition back to the streets again

Tension is rising in Syria. The Baathist regime announced the creation of a committee to start the long-awaited political reforms. It orders the release of activists detained in recent days. It is the result after the killing of dozens of civilians died under the blows of repression of the government security forces in southern Syria, which has led the regime of Al Assad, in power for forty years, to give a sign of change.

First of all the announced reforms, starting by the repeal of emergency law in force for 48 years. On the eve of "manifestations of anti-regime mass" on Friday called on social networks and websites of human rights activists, Buthayna Shaaban, an adviser to rais Bashar al-Assad, appeared at a press conference in Damascus to read a list of about ten points of "political and social reforms adopted in the Directorate of the Baath Party" which met in extraordinary session.

he opposition, however, rejected the openings of the government, which is not considered sufficient, and critics from Paris also wanted the fall of the regime, calling for support to Europe to overthrow him. Since Thursday morning had come from the south dramatic news about new heavy toll of civilian casualties in Daraa, a city 120 km south of Damascus and theater for a week of unprecedented protests against 'corruption' and for freedom.

Among the reforms ordered by Assad, there are also raising the "immediate" 30% of salaries to civil servants and the provision of incentives of various kinds, in addition to the promise of a package to tackle unemployment and corruption. The Shaaban, however, has not mentioned in any way the issue of political prisoners, whose release was cited for years by many, inside and outside Syria.
