Three weeks after the defeat of President Hosni Mubarak, the spontaneous assault services headquarters of State Security political police of the regime in Cairo has had the unintended consequence of compromising the reputation of well known figures in the Arab world. As revealed by witnesses of the assault, in the barracks the protesters found a room full of celebrity sex videos senior Egyptian and Arab politicians.
The videos, apparently taken in secret, show personalities having sex, presumably during visits to Egypt. Some witnesses report that many of the videos are members of Arab royal families. One had a simple description, "video of a princess of the royal family of Kuwait and a leading Egyptian businessman Cecil Hotel in Alexandria." Many of the videos were stolen during the assault, involving more than 2,500 demonstrators.
Although the armed forces tried to stop the attack on the building, were ultimately unable to prevent the entry of the crowd. Pictures taken from inside the barracks showing various torture chambers and rooms filled with piles of documents destroyed. Also uncovered documents dealing with cooperation between the secret police and the FBI in combating terrorism.
Many have referred to the assault as "Bastille Day" of Egypt. Representatives of the protesters claim to have assaulted the barracks to rescue the documents proving the regime's abuses, before they were destroyed by agents of the secret police.
