The Elysee and the Foreign Ministry were also target of cyberattack

The large-scale cyber attack against the French Ministry of Economy, and especially officials of the French presidency of the G20, also affected the foreign ministry and at the same Elysee, Libération reported. According to French newspaper, an Interior Ministry source said the intruders had conducted a sweep of information on the presidency of the G-20 fracesa and international economic issues that affected only the Treasury but also to the Presidency of the Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and certain European institutions, while Paris-Match points out that in these cases there were no consequences.

It is a revelation that contradicts the version given by the director of the National Security Information Systems (Anssi), Patrick Pailloux, after learning this important 'cyber' through the publication Paris-Match. Hours earlier, said the Anssi Pailloux has carried out several checks and has concluded that neither services nor Elysium Prime Minister have been affected by this operation.

According to the actual Pailloux the attack, which began in December and lasted until last weekend, was made by "professionals determined" and affected more than 150 computers in the Ministry, in particular the Treasury, and also documents focused on preparations for the G-20 and other international affairs.

For his part, Minister of Budget, François Baroin, said there are several "tracks" to be confirmed on the origin of this infiltration, the first of this scale against the French administration, noting that "probably" the attack came from abroad . The head of research reiterated that the aim of the attack were civil servants working in "the G20 and international politics," and admitted that there have been leaks of "sensitive information" while it is "difficult to know what the consequences" will have.

The economics department has filed a complaint "against X" (which does not identify the suspect) and since the first warning shot to the beginning of January, triggered an investigation that has been Anssi commissioning and has been working to 20 to 30 people "day and night." The method used has been the infiltration of the computer system with a hacked e-mail address that allowed entry into a computer using an attachment that acted as the Trojan.

When opening the document, the program 'pirate' was starting to act and could even be accessed from there to other people's computers who were in contact with him, allowing the spread of infection.
