Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, has prohibited by order entry and transit through the country the Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, and members of his family and his surroundings, as reported by the Kremlin. The presidential decree, signed in compliance with the sanctions adopted by the Security Council of the UN against Gadhafi's regime, including a list of 15 "natural persons that are prohibited entry into the territory of Russia and transit through of it.
" Moreover, Medvedev and Gaddafi banned members of his entourage carrying out any banking and financial operations in the territory of Russia. Previously, the last day 10, the Russian president ordered a ban on arms supplies to the regime of Gaddafi. In that decree, the Kremlin chief said that prohibits the "sale, supply and transfer" of weapons to Libya, either directly from Russia or outside its territory.
The prohibition relates to all kinds of weapons and military equipment, including spare parts. Furthermore, the provision includes the revision presidential seaports and air terminals in Russia of all loads bound for Libya, if there are signs that may be affected by the ban. According to some experts, Russia, one of the main suppliers of arms to Libya, may stop receiving up to 4,000 million dollars in case of an extended embargo on supplies of military equipment to Tripoli.
