Sana'a. Gunmen .- Yemeni government opponents took a local radio station today, a weapons factory and several government offices and the security forces in the province of Abian, in southern Yemen, witnesses told Efe. One of the inhabitants of this province said that armed men, some of which belong to jihadi groups (radical Islamists), they took control of government buildings in the capital cities of Zinyibar-Abian, "Yaar and Yafe.
In Zinyibar, 40 kilometers east of the southern port of Aden, the gunmen captured the headquarters of local authorities, the office of the Yemeni secret services and the building of the agency responsible for combating malaria. In the neighboring city of Yaar, the assailants checked a weapons factory, the building of the local radio and known as "House Guest" which belongs to local authorities.
The witnesses added that the guards of these buildings had left their posts after receiving warnings of possible attacks. So far, not been informed of the existence of clashes between police and assailants.
