Barcelona. (Editorial) .- After major disasters often we hear stories that show that humans are able to get the best out of ourselves in the most dramatic moments. Hideaki is the case Akaiwa, a 43 year old Japanese after the Japónse eltsunami put a wet suit and did not stop until you find, fortunately alive, his wife and mother, according to The Star newspaper published at the time of tragedy, Akaiwa was working out of town, Ishinomaki.
When he arrived, the giant wave had swept the place, killing thousands and leaving the city reduced to rubble and houses submerged up to four feet under water. Akaiwa knew that if I wanted to find his family life could not wait for the arrival of rescue teams had to act. So he put on a rudimentary diving equipment and got into the icy waters.
Two days later he found his wife, who has been married for 20 years, who had survived in the couple's home. "It is very important to me," he said at the time. But the concerns of the diver does not end there, as he still had not found his elderly mother, so he continued searching the waters to get to the house where he lived.
Fortunately there found the woman trapped in the top of the home, six days after the tragedy, unharmed but terrified. Terminate away from his achievement, Hideaki Akaiwa, continues to this day looking for the tsunami victims in the rubble of this city of 162,000 people.
